October 6th Weekend

There will be NO Mass, Adoration or Reconciliation from Tuesday, October 8th to Thursday, October 10th. 

We are looking for 2-3 volunteers to help with Children’s Liturgy of the Word. This ministry is for adults to lead the 4-year-olds through 2nd graders through the readings of the day and a brief reflection. The group begins at Mass and returns to their parents at the offertory. The Knights of Columbus will be hosting Oktoberfest on Sunday, October 13th after the 11am Mass. There will be traditional German food and music. The cost is $5 for children 10 & under, $10 for adults, and a $30 cap for families. Please see the bulletin for details.

Bibles & Brews is a new Men’s bible study group that meets every other Monday. The next meeting is on October 7th, from 7-9pm at the Long Way Home Brewery. Please see the bulletin for contact information.

St. Jude will be hosting a Trunk or Treat night on Sunday, October 27th from 5-7pm. Parishioners and Parish committees are encouraged to bring their children in costume or sign up in the lobby to be one of the cars handing out candy. There will be prizes for best decorated car and best costume. 

The New River Valley Pregnancy Resource Center banquet is October 21st and 22nd. The food, fellowship, and message will be worth your time to learn more about this amazing organization and what you can do to help people choose life. Please see bulletin for details.

Our weekly Middle School Youth Ministry, Encounter, is off to a wonderful start! Part of the time in the group is spent in fellowship and they have a small snack. Parents have been helping with snacks, but we would like to extend help with this ministry to the entire parish. If you would like to donate a non-perishable, individually wrapped snack, please bring the snacks to church and place it in the marked box. We are greatly appreciative of any and all donations!
